Sorrel Drink

  • 1 container of dried sorrel (found at Oakwood Farms)*
  • 11/2 lb fresh ginger (scraped and shredded)
  • 10-12 whole cloves
  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 lb brown sugar
  • tbsp lemon juice (Optional)
  1. Combine all ingredients into a 4 qt. container with 1 gallon spring water and bring to a boil
  2. When it comes to a boil, turn off heat and cover container to simmer and seep 24-48 hours or overnight.
  3. When cooled, strain and sweeten to taste.
Recipe Notes

You can add additional ½ gallon water to remnants after straining and complete the process which can then be added to the gallon already made. Add more sugar as may be needed.
