Turnip Greens are well known in the south. They are high in both Vitamin A and Vitamin C. The leaves of the turnip are tender and not as tough as collard greens. For this reason, turnip greens can be cooked lightly. That being said, be sure to try the recipe below.
- Thoroughly rinse your turnip greens. Remove any and all turnip root bottoms. Firmly roll up the turnip greens and begin to chop. In this way, you have more control and the turnip green strips will be thin nice strips. Set the turnip greens aside in a large bowl.
- Afterward, proceed to finely chop the garlic, red onion, and bell peppers.
- Place about a tablespoon of your desired cooking oil into a frying pan or skillet. Wait till the oil is heated. When the oil is heated fry the garlic, onion, and red bell peppers.
- Add in your turnip greens and sauté them until they are bright green.
- Remove everything from the pan, and serve!
